Hold the remote sideways with the thumbpad on the right.
To use your character's special ability, press the "Play/Pause" button.
For powerups, use the "Select" button (push down on the touch pad).
For the Boost Start, wait until the countdown is just about to say "Go" and then hit the Select button.
For brake, gently touch the bottom (Down) of the thumbpad on the right.
